悠久の時を経て・・・・

フィンクスはエジプト生まれのコットン。エジプトは、黄金の古代文明が栄えた地。クレオパトラとシーザーが愛を語った地。雄大な歴史のロマンを見続けてきたナイル川のほとりで、１９世紀頃コットンは初めて花を咲かせました。
「エジプトはナイルの賜物」といわれるように、コットンもナイルの賜物。
ナイル川の豊かな水とふりそそぐ太陽が、世界でも有数の良質なコットンをつくるのです。
カイロで観賞用につくられた綿と、幻の綿と言われた海島綿を交配。数代にわたって改良を重ねて誕生したのが、エジプト綿。エジプト綿の花は、みずみずしいクリーム色。
咲いた日の翌日には、ピンク色に変わり、花が終わると子房がふくらみ、中からフワフワの白い繊維（コットンボール）が顔を出します。
その様子は、まるで白い花。だから、綿花と呼ばれるのです。
２度美しい花を咲かせて、コットンは母なるエジプトの大地に生まれます。

いろいろな綿をブレンドしていかに良いものをつくるか、綿紡績ではコストのことを考えて、そこに力を注ぎます。
しかし、フィンクスはこの一般常識を否定することからはじまりました。エジプトでていねいに作られ、こまやかに厳選された原綿。
そのすばらしさは、ブレンドしない単一綿でこそいかされるのですから・・・・。
でもそれだけでよい綿糸ができるわけではありません。紡績技術も大切な条件。
フィンクスは、ＫＢツヅキ株式会社出雲工場に特設されたフィンクスコーナーで紡がれます。
この道１５年～２０年のベテラン担当者の手によって、厳しい検品のくりかえしと熟練した生産管理の結晶として生まれるのです。
つまりフィンクス糸は、選りすぐられた最高のエジプト綿だけで紡がれたプレミアムなコットンなのです。
